Community Engagement and Involvement (CEI)

Nepal
For the Nepal CEI team, the NAMASTE Annual Meeting in Goa was an insightful opportunity to learn how community engagement tools are being meaningfully applied across sites. What really stood out for us was emphasis on building trust with the communities and ensuring that program design and delivery are informed by lived experiences. The discussion emphasized the value of shared learning, long-term collaborations, and cultural sensitivity in enhancing the community’s engagement. Additionally, the visit offered valuable opportunities for cross-site interaction, which motivated us to reflect on how CEI approaches might be further adapted while remaining responsive to community needs.

Sri Lanka
The annual multi-site visit was a great opportunity for the Sri Lanka team to learn from other sites—hearing how different sites approach community engagement helped us reflect on our own practices. In particular, discussion around tools such as the Child Development Milestone tracking calendar and identification lanyards in the community offered practical insights for how we could effectively use these tools in Colombo. We shared challenges and barriers from each site, also presented our site activities and shared details about the social media campaigns we implemented, making the visit a meaningful learning experience.
CEI Team India
The recent NAMASTE Annual Meeting in Goa was a meaningful and energising experience for the Community Engagement and Involvement workstream. Meeting colleagues in person created space for deeper connection, open exchanges, and honest reflection. It offered a unique platform for each site to showcase progress, share common and site-specific challenges, and receive constructive feedback and insights. The “Humans of NAMASTE” board stood out, offering powerful glimpses into community journeys across the programme. Despite a packed agenda, the meeting was smoothly coordinated, enabling thoughtful discussion and collaboration!
